Cross County EAST Students Participate in Film Training

Cross County EAST students participated in a three day camp on film making.  The instructor was Steve Taylor from SAU Tech, Camden.  He has worked on numerous feature film sets here in the state of Arkansas and other locations outside our area.  The training was furnished through the EETT (Enhancing Education Through Technology) Grant that was given to the Southeast Arkansas Education Service Cooperative.  Karen Eoff, Project Director, created a statewide replication grant that EAST programs could apply for to help educate our area students to produce more student films and hopefully bring more film makers to our state.  The students and facilitator go through a three day training course and in return the school participating conducts a summer camp for their own students to learn about film making.  The camp will entail basic camera techniques, lighting, audio, and editing.  The equipment given to each school is considered a mobile film studio that is portable enough to take on location shoots and is valued at $15,000.00.  To take a quote from Steve Taylor, "You students should be able to shoot studio quality film that compares to any film maker today."
